I found a stretch of sidewalk which must have been poured in the autumn when leaves were falling. They’ve left beautiful impressions, and I took a bunch of shots. They might make nice greeting cards. 😉

18.0-200.0 mm f/3.5-5.6 @ 95mm (142mm EFL); subject distance 1m
This is very beautiful in its ruggedness, the stony textures and those vertical lines. They do look sort of fossilized.
Thanks, Flo. Though not unique, I’m sure, I am intrigued by the subject and re-shooting the series with a tripod. Handheld noise was driving me crazy when editing, and my husband had some suggestions about framing that I agree with. 🙂
What I’m really waiting for is when more leaves and bits of twigs start to fall, to add another dimension of time and color to their story…
The fun part is when I’m bent over staring at the sidewalk with the camera, and people stop to ask “What *are* you doing?!” When I show them, they say “Oh! I never noticed that.”
