Flagstone Terrace:
After losing an enormous blue spruce—it was tilting dangerously toward our neighbor's house and had to be removed—we converted the space to a 3-tiered terrace edged in flagstone. We miss the spruce, as do the birds miss their cover in bad weather, but we added two new trees and now have enough light to grow perennials and herbs.
